Geocache Description:

This cache is just off of the trail head of the Francis Slocum Trail that takes you to the historic Francis Slocum Rock. It may contain travel bugs.

This is a short hike, nice to do with the kids in the evening. If you take a nice walk down the trail here is a large rock formation with a slight indentation almost like a cave. There is a sign in front of it marking the historic location. In 1778 an Indian War party kidnapped a young girl named (Frances Slocum) and held her captive overnight in this cave, she managed to escape but was recaptured. She then went on to live the rest of her life as an indian, was married and had many kids.
Enjoy walking the trails and check out the other really cool caches in the park.
