Geocache Description:

A classic viewpoint in Romeriksåsene

"Paradis, it was a lover of the forest who gave you your name".
That's the words Johannes Dahl chose to describe the view of Nordmarka from across the valley, at the summit of Paradiskollen in Romeriksåsene. Dahl - sportsman, officer and writer, is the author of "Nordmarka - eventyr og eldorado".

If you find this cache, you are well on your way to Bernhard #38: Johannes Dahl's Treasure. The cache contains the coordinates for step 2 in the treasure hunt, Bernhard #37: Adventure and Eldorado.

Harestua train station is a handy place to start the ascent of Paradiskollen, which takes normal people at least an hour.
The name of the cache is taken from a Johannes Dahl line:

Nordmarka. Paradis!

The cache is an army container, secured with velcro. Initial contents:
Logbook with Johannes Dahl's portrait
Johannes Dahl fact sheet, laminated
Pen and pencil
Highlighters (2)
Invitations to Bernhard Herre's home page
Bernhardese fear chasers (2)
Disposable camera. Take picture of yourself on site and put it back.
Owner's business card (take one and leave your own if you like)
Mosquito tissue
Moose dropping
Coordinates for Bernhard #37: Adventure and Eldorado
TB Corkadelia the Action Bugette

While honoring Johannes Dahl and his fine book, this cache is dedicated to Bernhard Herre (1812-1849), another pioneer hiker who also wrote a fine book. Bernhard was the first city person to explore the hills above Oslo and write insightfully about them.
