Geocache Description:

We are placing this cache in loving memory of our dear friend, Marcy Schrader. Many of you know her as the "Mrs." of Jackpine-Savage or JPS. She is now our geo-Angel. We know she will be watching over us and sending us clues whenever we need her help. Marcy was really good at spotting the toughies and solving the most difficult of puzzles. Please help us honor her memory and leave a comment, photo or story in your log. Oh boy could she write a story!

Marcia Lyne Schrader, age 53, died peacefully on March 7, 2017 at her home in Boone, Iowa after a long, valiant battle with metastatic liver cancer. Marcy is now in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Marcy was born on August 6, 1963 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Donald and Carolena Deeney. Marcy was the oldest of four children and grew up on a small farm near Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, where she enjoyed riding and caring for horses and participating in 4-H. Marcy thoroughly enjoyed reading and academics, which she demonstrated by graduating from high school a year early and beginning college at Oak Hills Christian College in Bemidji, Minnesota in 1981.

In her second year at Oak Hills, Marcy met her soul mate, James (Jim) Schrader, and they were married on June 26, 1983. Marcy and Jim were blessed with four beautiful children, and being a mom was the most cherished part of Marcy’s life. Along with her role as mom, Marcy homeschooled all four children through elementary and high school. She was a loving and compassionate wife and mother, whose highest goal was to be the kind of woman that God wanted her to be.

Marcy loved to travel, and she greatly enjoyed geocaching, a travel sport that took her and Jim to all 50 states, to Canada, and to Mexico. Marcy was an avid quilter, and loved to make quilts for her friends and family. When someone used one of her quilts, she said it was like she was wrapping them in a hug. Marcy loved a challenge. Whether physical or intellectual, she would push herself until every goal was accomplished. She was strong and courageous, as well as kind and gentle. Marcy found strength and comfort in her Bible, her church, her family, her friends, and her constant companion, her little pug Lucy.

Marcy worked as a bookkeeper in the health and medical industries later in life. Her favorite jobs were with Boone Family Chiropractic in Boone, Iowa and Story County Medical Center in Nevada, Iowa, where she made many close friends and touched numerous lives with her kind and generous spirit.

Marcy is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Benjamin (Deborah), Melanie (Seth) Reineke, Samuel, and Gideon; her mother, Carolena Lapierre; her sisters, Robin Herd and Kim Jamrozy; and her brother, James Goodman. Marcy was preceded in death by her father, Donald Deeney; and her son, Noah.
