Here, we visit the lovely small church of St. Edith's, a wonderfully picturesque church that most people wouldn't even know existed down this short lane. The cache is not in the church grounds itself but is very close.
As you approach the church, depending on the time of year, listen to the singing of the many birds that have made their home in the church's tower.
It doesn't take too much imagination to realise that the hamlet's name (Llanedi) is a shortened version of the Church's name in Welsh (Llan Edith).
If you have time, might I suggest continuing along from where you found the cache for some great views of the Loughor river meandering down the valley, or perhaps make this part of a longer circular route - there are many well documented footpaths in this area. Carmarthenshire have a good reputation of making sure rights of way listings on Ordnance Survey maps are kept up to date.
This was originally going to be a multi stage cache where you'd have to get some numbers from graves within the church grounds - but in Eclectic Penguin's own 2008 words "to be honest I've often felt uncomfortable doing this myself on other caches especially if there are relatives visiting the graves of their loved ones so I decided to make it a straight forward standard cache with an invitation to spend some time in this tranquil location once you've bagged your find".
Note: the container lists this location as Secluded Sanctuary but I've since renamed the cache as Secluded Spiritual Sactuary as I like this alliteration and new name!
