A short walk to the cache, but down a slippery slope, so please be careful with young children, and dogs. There is a tidal river here.
Bridge of Earn has never quite made up its mind whether it is a Highland village on the verge of the Lowlands, or a Lowland village on the verge of the Highlands! It nestles on the historic highway between the ancient (Perth) and present (Edinburgh) capitals of Scotland.
Standing in the wide Strath of Earn, this peaceful Perthshire town has an impressive history, having played host to Edward I, Sir William Wallace and Oliver Cromwell to name but a few. It can also lay claim to having the oldest village in Scotland (Kintillo) within its parish boundaries!
Find the Information plaque, which is diagonally opposite the Esso Filling station, and answer the following questions:
A) 72* a.d. Battle of Moncreiffe
B) 1*96 Edward I crossed with his armies
C) 1*28 Auld Brig repaired by Robert the Bruce
D) 165* Cromwell and troups camped nearby
E) 1*21 New Bridge constructed
F) How many lampposts are attatched to the bridge (both sides?)
Cache to be found at 56.21.DBF /003.24.CAE
The cache is a white 35mm film container. The co-ords are a bit erratic due to not enough sky cover, and you may lose the signal, but if you have trouble the clue will help.
