Geocache Description:

This cache is the 25th point on the Dartmoor Forest boundary, as established by the 1240 Perambulation. More details about the Perambulation can be found on the cache page for the Dartmoor Forest Bonus. On the front page of the logbook is an adjustment to be made to the Bonus co-ordinates, which you will need to find the Bonus.

The massive bulk of Mis Tor, or Mystor as it was once known, dominates the area around it. It is the most majestic of the western tors, not only due to its height, but the steep drops around half its circumference make it seem to loom over the surrounding moorland. It has a very well-preserved rock basin on the west side of the main tor outcrop near the military flag, known as Mis Tor Pan, and it was this rock that was used in the 1609 survey as a bound mark.

If doing this cache as a standalone, there are two suitable parking places: Four Winds car park (PK1) is opposite the vehicular track up to Little Mis Tor, and is good underfoot but involves a climb. The flatter alternative route is from Rundlestone (PK2), but this can be very wet.

The next point on the Perambulation is Dead Lake Head. Head north down the hill from this cache towards Greena Ball. Continue down to the foot of Dead Lake, where there you can cross the Walkham River before heading up to Dead Lake Head.
