Geocache Description:

Welcome to a beautiful park near the end of the road. It marks the last stop for boaters to purchase gas and supplies before going uplake. This park provides 2 boat ramps and 32 boat docks. For motorists, it’s close to end of the South Lakeshore Road and has 67 campsites. Horses, llamas, deer, bear, coyotes, cougar, lynx and even a moose have been spotted here.

Enjoy fishing, swimming in two areas, walking along the Creek, picnicking, and a restroom with warm showers. A helpful ranger, his aides and a friendly storekeeper will welcome you. Open hours vary during the year. During the summer check-in is at 2:30 or later. Check out at 1:00 or before. The Park is usually closed November to April. For geocaching, however, you can park most anytime, in the large parking lot just to the right of the entry building or across the street. This State Park was a seasonal, Native American encampment site on the south shore of Lake Chelan. Native Americans came here by land to begin their uplake canoe trips and to fish and hunt at the site. Constructed by Mr. Dave Davis, the park was operated for many years as a private resort. State Parks acquired it in 1972 and continued to operate it as a private resort under concession contracts with various tenants. Since 1988, park staff has operated the park.
