Geocache Description:

Parking is available at N 39° 59.607' W 085° 07.873'. The cache is 7 inches by 3½ inches by 10 inches and contains a log, pencil and items for trade.

An unmarked historical boundary is located just beyond the cache. The Treaty at Fort Wayne signed on September 30, 1809 ceded additional land, known as "Harrison's Purchase", to the United States from the territory’s Indian tribes. At N 39° 59.559' W 085° 07.491' the abandoned railway intersects the Fort Wayne Treaty Line which extends south southwest to the Grouseland Treaty Line and north northeast to near the Mississinewa River then northeast to Fort Recovery on the Ohio/Indiana State Line and the Greenville Treaty Line.

From 1803 to 1809, Territorial Governor William Henry Harrison concluded ten treaties with the Indians, bringing millions of acres of land under U.S. control, including much of the southern part of present-day Indiana.
