Geocache Description:

Surprise! A Million Dollar View!

This is a short walk down a wide graded dirt and gravel trail, in a park you probably didn't know about, to a nice view you probably didn't know about. I don't know the story of the destination site, but it looks almost like it was graded to be a spot for a house before someone realized they didn't want their house falling into Puget Sound during a storm!

This park was originally one of several private reserves owned by the surrounding planned community. In 1997 it became the property of the City of Shoreline, and is now a city park; the old name was Innis Arden Reserve "M", and that is the closest thing to a name that I have found for it, even after speaking to the Shoreline city parks director. The city is currently working with a trails group and the surrounding community to add some basic development like better access and formal trails. However, as of now it is a basically undeveloped park, with one access at the north and one at the south. There are two well-worn informal trails from years of use, and a couple of side trails, and there are some great views over Puget Sound, but most of the 20-something acres is wild and unused. The portion of the trail that leads to this cache could almost be a road. A driveway, perhaps?

The container is a camoflauged jumbo bison tube. PLEASE do a good job of re-hiding it and covering it up! You need to bring your own writing instrument because there is not one in the cache.

You might want to bring your own binoculars also.

The park is open dawn to dusk.

Congratulations to judbud for FTF!
