For those of you who do not know who he is, he maintains an
international list of cachers who have made at least 200 finds.
http://www.cacherstats.com/New_Mexico1.html is us.
You do not need to be on the list to come and those of you who
are close can grill him on the current target caches. Bring
questions if you are curious about how he does it. I pester him a
lot keeping New Mexico current.
This event is early, 7am, for 3 reasons. It is the best time for
the restaurant to handle a group our size, it will not cut into
much caching time and it will allow those who need to pray for
fewer DNF's to get to most services.
We will be meeting at Murphy's Mule Barn in the North Valley. It
is legendary among balloonists and I found it because a friend who
used to give walking tours on various ditchbanks always brought her
groups here for brunch at the end (Nancy, of inactive cachers
edandnancy). It's not fancy, it really was a barn, the food is good
and plentiful and the waitress will call you "hon".
They are delighted to have us and have given permission for me
to place a permanent cache. That makes this event a two-fer and the
new cache will not be in place until the event. Since last minute
signups are hard on the restaurant staff, your incentive for
signing up before March 21 will be that you will get the new cache
coordinates in advance by email.
When you do your "will attend" log, feel free to suggest any
"must-do" caches that you've come across recently. You can leave
recommendations in a note even if you can't make the event. This
may allow our out-of-towners to do some planning to use their time
most efficiently and it will give locals a heads up on some goodies
they may have overlooked.
