Planet Earth was indeed the watery planet today, so why not make a trip to the Museum of Science since there would be nothing but heavy rain in the woods today. I'd posed with the distant Pluto last week. Today I braved the driving rain to visit Venus, Earth and Mars this afternoon after making the trip to Hogwarts. I hadn't read the past logs, so I wasted some time looking for the missing Mercury. Venus and Mars were not bad in the rain, but Earth was truly miserable. I'm surprised there aren't water splashes visible on the lens after balancing the camera on a chair and dashing to get into the shot. No sign of the micro at Venus, as others have reported. Thanks for the adventure--hope the missing planets are relocated someday.

Domo!!! Some good news fellow cachers, as an update to my recent note posted here on January 17, 2010. Just before work, I've successfully managed to locate "Uranus". I asked the librarian there, and he happily & kindly guided me to the location. I presume it's not displayed at the initial place any more, but definitely does exist, and is very much intact! The last 'Uranus' log seems to be by momofm3 on October 06, 2009, who may also be the very single cacher in the past with a picture posted, kind of a 'FTF'. No wait, just checked all posted picture, and there do seem to be a few others with Uranus picture posted, but quite old logs. I just hope not to be the last. My 'proof' picture will be posted later on, together with all the other 'Planets' I've found, once I fulfill my own higher quest of finding ALL existing ones, and log a "Found it". Found Five so far. The rest is now Two more to go, Jupiter and Pluto.

Found the sun last year when my sons cub scout pack slept over, glad I took a picture then, I also had a picture of Mercury but can't find that. will post it when I do, But this year we stayed over again and got to find Venus, earth and Mars.. so along with the sun from last year I think we qualify... The sun is not available right now due to renovations.... now to post the pictures

I had seen Mercury, Earth and Mars many times before I started geocaching, but had never taken a picture. I hadn't seen Venus until Sunday when we returned to the Museum of Science to see the Harry Potter exhibition. I took pictures of my wife and kids next to Earth, Mars and Venus, but we couldn't find Mercury. We asked staff in the museum, but they didn't even know there was a solar system exhibit (apparently Dr Moro was more successful in locating knowledgeable resources). We did take a picture of the spot where we thought Mercury used to be - and the picture looks just like Dr Moro's. Today I went Downtown to take a picture of myself next to Jupiter, so that makes four planets.

Domo!!! Bad News fellow cachers. Since living close to the Museum of Science, I just went and checked with the 'Planets' there, that I haven't got to yet. Well, the whole Charles Hayden Planetarium is CLOSED, and area in also closed off that you cannot get to the 'SUN' there. Asking at the Information booth, it seems that the Planetarium is now under Full-renovation, and is 'planned' to reopen next year 2011, but not known exactly when. Also, 'MERCURY' is GONE! Not at it's spot it used to be, leaving just the rusty square footprint of it there. I also asked about the whole 'Community Solar System' that this cache is based upon, and the answer was it might be taken down and no plan to put it back up. VERY SAD! I wish the whole 'Community Solar System' is maintained as long as possible. I am working on this cache, setting my own goal to a higher standard to get to ALL possible 'Planets' existing. I have already found Mercury (now gone!), Venus & Earth (Still exists as of 1/17/2010), Mars (Still exists as of 1/16/2010) so far, making me qualify for a "Found", but I plan to get to the three remaining Jupiter, Uranus & Pluto ASAP, before they are all gone. Also, there's no Micro-log at Venus.
