Another piece of the local history
This town came into being around 1900 to house the railway workers. Later it had Limestone kilns to supply the Smelter industry. It had a school and a Post Office which also served the Town of Drake (was Cedar Glade) across Hells Canyon. They had to walk across the rail trestle. The only remaining things are the foundation of the Limestone kiln (near the Railroad) and the Cedar Glade Cemetery.
The access road is dirt, and wide - it now leads to a new Limestone Quarry Mine. The cache is not in the Quarry - do not pass through the gate.

The cache is not behind the locked gate!!! You need to turn before the gate to the left.

The cache should not be disabled!!

According to the Yavapai tax record data base, this cache is located on parcel 800-01-028W which is Prescott National Forest land. Drake Cement does not own this property based on the tax records. This cache was accessible from the south via FSR 680 off of 89. There was a locked gate at approximately N 34 58.387 W 112 23.274 but the road to the cache is right before this gate. This is how I got to this cache. There is also another road/trail at N 34 58.425 W 112 23.641 which goes to the cache. I haven't tried this one but unless they have moved the gate to 89, you should be able to get to this trail. Unless the two previous cachers have tried this approach, they should delete their logs. See the logs of March 2, 2008 and March 8, 2008. This has happened before. More than likely, nothing has changed.
