On December 6, 2009 the highway construction on I-64/US 40 that has
been ongoing for the past two years will be complete. The highway
will be open to the public for non-motorized travel from noon to
4:00pm before it's opening to motorized traffic on the next
day.
To celebrate this
event we will be meeting at 1:30pm at the above listed
coordinates (Very
Important-East
Bound Lanes for cyclists and West Bound Lanes
for pedestrians) to sign the barrier wall, and then
we'll be off for our last chance to cycle, blade, or
just stroll around to see the new construction before it
opens. After, we'll pick a spot to dine, discuss some
geocaching topics, and relive the day's events. No go in
rain, snow, or below 15F.
Sing it,
Willie....
