The Kingpins
I can thank (or blame) The Kingpins for getting me started Geocaching!
The Kingpins of Tomahawk are Bill, Gary of opus215, Don, Lisa, Alyssia, Winter, and whoever they take along with them on a rare Geocache hunt. It was back in July 2011 at a friend's graduation picnic held a Kitchenette Park in Merrill. The guys walked off holding this bright yellow GPS thing and heading toward the river! I followed Don into the mosquito infested bushes where he showed me the Geocache, a camo-covered matchstick container. He opened it to reveal a scroll of paper, which he signed The Kingpins. Well, I wanted in, so I signed my own nickname, WorldServer. Back at the picnic table, I immediately whipped out my phone, signed up for my free Geocaching account, and "the rest is history".
The Kingpins had found 231 caches when I started. Of course I passed them by in a few months!
In honor of The Kingpins, I created and released a Travel Bug out into the world. By now it's probably made more miles and caches than them, lol!
Thank you Kingpins for introducing me to my favorite hobby ever!
