Geocache Description:

This multi cache will lead you to both sides of the Kickapoo Creek Valley in a beautiful part of McLean County.  I originally found these spots as I rode my bicycle south of Bloomington.  I hope you find this piece of the county lovely too.

The beginning coordinates will take you to the Shiloh Cemetery. (The USGS Quad for this area lists this as the Old Rutledge Cemetery, but the sign at the gate says it is the Shiloh Cemetery.) There is no physical cache in the cemetery.  There are several gravestones in the area of GZ for these coordinates.  In order to indentify the correct gravestone, you will need to know a little about music history.  The first name of the deceased is the same first name of a famous gospel/blues singer. The last name of the deceased is the name of a somewhat less famous guitar maker.  Once you have found the correct gravestone, you will need to solve the following to reach the second stage of the multi.

N ABCD.EFG
W HIJ KL.MPQ

AB= Double the day of death
CD= add all the separate digits in the numbers for the time this person lived and subtract 2.
EFG = (day of birth + month of death + day of death) squared
HIJ = Figure the year this person was born.  Take the last three digits and invert the first
two. E.g.  XYZ becomes YXZ.
KLM= (sum of the single digits for the date of birth + sum of the single digits for the time lived) times 12.
P = third digit of year born
Q = first digit of days lived

There is no cache at the secondary.  Here you will find more information to help you locate the final.  All past figures no longer work (E.g. AB above is not AB below), but I do still reference information from the gravestone for the new coordinates below.

N AB CD.EFG
W HIJ KL.MNP
AB = add all the single digits of the year built and last 4 digits of the Br. No.
CD =  add all the single digits for the time the person on the grave lived.
EFG = remove the dash in the Br. No. and use the second, third, and fourth digit.
H = first digit of the Br. No.
IJ = CD times 4
KL = 5/8 of IJ
MNP= Years lived times days lived from the grave.

When I visit this cemetery, I park at the road.  I don't drive in as there is no gravel road and I don't know how soft the ground might be if it is wet.  Please close the gate behind you when you enter and leave. Stay on the public right of way. The grass is usually mowed, but there still may be ticks when the grass is green.

Please do not interact with the livestock next to the public right of way.  As beautiful as these creatures are, you do not own them and your interaction with them may be percieved as detrimental to their wellbeing.

Pleae observe the usual rules for cemetery caches; no night caching; come back later when mourners are present, stay on the public right of way.
