Salto Del Diablo, translated from spanish Leaping From the Devil, it sounded like a cool name for an event. So I have a couple of harnesses and some rope and would be willing to show a few cachers how to rappel. More and more caches are coming up with increasing difficulty so here is a way to gain some tools for your geocaching bag of tricks.
Welcome to the Giant City Devils Stand-table area. We could meet at the Giant City Visitors Center, if you need help getting to the coordinates. Say 0800, it is about a 2 hour drive from st louis to get here. We would proceed down to Devils Standtable cliffs. Then from there walk up tp the short routes. Once you get comfortable move to the main wall. Then ending the afternoon at the Devils Standtable with a group photo on top of the table. The log book will be avialable from 8:00 - 1200 pm. So with this sovenior thing in august is here why not give people a chance to rappel if they want and learn on a short rappel, then advance to the finale a 80 foot cliff. The goal of the event is to share rappelling with some geocaching friends and have some fun on the rocks of Giant City
