Chesterfield Beach Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Kiersolvd: I am regretfully archiving this cache. It's time to let this place rest and perhaps a new cache can be put back into this park next fall in a better spot.

I visited the site today and could not find the third bison I placed last year. It might be there under some rocks down the hole that I couldn't move out of the way. There were magnets on the cache that should have been attractive to another magnet, but no luck there.

Reverse found what looks to be the second bison that M10B set after the first bison went down the hole. I'm speculating that the lake water splached up on the retaining wall and washed the first two bisons out on down onto the gravel below the dock where Reverse found one.

When this was first placed December 2005, the lake level was lower than it was today. Today the lake was about 6 inches above the beach below the dock. As summer approaches, this should be a popular spot to enjoy the lake. As it were today, warm and sunny, there were four muggles and a dog there enjoying the park and having lunch (or chasing sticks out into the lake.)

The cache served it's purpose of bringing people to this lovely spot. Thanks to all who came and looked.

Geocache Description:

A small Bellevue park on Lake Washington with great views toward Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island and of the Seattle skyline.

The park was empty when I visited it on a cold but sunny December morning.  I don't think that will always be the case, at least it's bound to be cloudy and raining most of the time.

To be able to snag this cache, be sure to time your visit well.  It's located in a highly used location when the park is busy.  Look for a small bison tube.

Be careful when replacing it.

It's somewhere in this picture, but that covers a lot of ground then, doesn't it.
