*******************************************************

This hide is in honor of the water stop I have worked for the last two years at the NCR Trail Marathon put on by the Baltimore Road Runners Club. This year was the 20th anniversary and I felt this little, out of the way, spot needed a cache since I spend so much time here.

While the cache is not directly on the trail, it is a quick walk from the trail, on a paved road, to get to this one. Just slightly off the paved road, so this is a great one if you are running or riding the NCR trail in this area.

You will also get a nice perspective of the stream and old railroad bridge back on the trail from this spot. While you are here (and if it is not summer) you might see the remains of the old house up on the hill. Local history says this was a hunting cabin but it seems a bit big for that to me. Feel free to let me know your thoughts on it.

One last thing of interest here. As you come off the trail (or drive over it), you will see a sign that is the split for Hicks Road and Wilson Road. You would think the change should be just beyond the bridge where the road makes a hard right, but this is not the case. The railroad generally followed the river but at spots (like this one) moved away from it to keep a level grade or cut off sharp bends. In this case the railroad became a property line and consequently the road changed names as it crossed the railroad tracks.

Please replace as found (not harder or easier). This should be a quick find if lucky and real stumper if not!

Congrats to Ump35&Bee and PaHawkEye for a shared FTF on this one.
