Geocache Description:

Some time between Friday evening and Saturday morning, May 3 2003, the old man passed away and left his worldly post for the valley floor far below. His full obituary may be found here:

http://www.nhparks.state.nh.us/state-parks/alphabetical-order/franconia-notch-state-park/old-man-of-the-mountain-historic-site/ .

His son however has been seen upholding his family tradition as the patient sentinel on Kenai Lake, not far from Seward Alaska.

Think you can find him? Be sure to bring a camera and post a pic of him.

On the shores of Kenai Lake. An easy walk from the Trail River Campground. Turn west off the Seward Highway onto Trail River Road at Mile post 24. It's about 1 mile to the campground and the start of the short hike.

There is a short and easy climb at the end of the beach. If the terrain is wet the decent could be very slippery. Beware!

Cache contains a few books that I'm done with, a couple of TB's, some CD's of some tunes I like and a few small trading items.
