Along the AT north of Sams Gap.
We were hiking and letterboxing on this part of the AT in October 2004 and placed this cache container. Things were a little hectic then and we kept putting off listing it. By mid-winter we thought we should wait and recheck it to make sure it was still there. We returned on Mother's Day '05 and found the container just as high and dry as the day we placed it there six months earlier.
So this cache is placed in honor of our mothers and all the mothers of AT hikers.
You are looking for a 4x4x6 inch plastic container. Contains a log book and a few tradeables. It is placed less than a 10 minute walk from the parking area at Sam's Gap. Did we mention there are two letterboxes near by?
