Geocache Description:

The coordinates listed are for parking only. We had a geocache here before but the tree that it was in was cut down. This is a new geocache requiring you to go to certain monuments and plaques to obtain information to get the coordinates to the final. There is a sidewalk alongside the Boulevard to access these places and crosswalks to get across the street.

Bristol has always had a proud tradition of honoring it's Veterans. Memorial Boulevard was established in 1920 to honor the citys WWI veterans. Each huge oak tree you see along the mile long boulevard was planted in memory of a Bristol soldier who gave up their life in WWI. Now there are monuments & a Veterans brick walkway, with names of Veterans & their branch of service inscribed on the bricks in this park-like setting. On a personal note, we have several family members honored with bricks at the Veterans walkway and a great great uncle who has one of those oak trees planted in his memory. The cache can be found at 41.40 ABC 072 55. DEF Begin with leaving your car at the parking coordinates and make your way to 41.40.142 072 55 976. At this monument, how many battles are listed here? The number = F. Continue on to 41.40. 143 072 55 951. How many sides on this monument? Count them and add one more and that = D. The next monument is located at 41.40.148 072 55 932. Read the dedication date, the 3rd digit =E. Walk to 41.40 150 072 55 889. Take the 2nd year on the plaque, add the digits and divide by 3. This number = C. Now to proceed to the next two monuments, you need to cross the street. There are crosswalks but watch the traffic carefully, especially if you have young children with you. The next stop is 41.40 185 072 55 856. Read the plaque and take the day in August that is listed, that number =B. Now to 41.40.180 072 55 931. Take the first digit of the date in November that is listed. That number =A. Once you have the coordinates, make your way to the cache. Please retrieve and replace carefully. This cache cannot be done after dark, the area is patrolled and there are cameras to watch any night time activity.
