Geocache Description:

The altitude of this virtual cache is 13,622 ft (4,152 m). It is a specific point viewable from a place of relative safety before you commit. Standard mountaineering kit as well as a large set of "stones" yourself are required. To get credit for this one, upload a photo of yourself riding the stone pony with your "Found it" log.

Wow. Nineteen years since I placed this! And only a handful of finds. Here is a funny story from 15+ years ago. i was hiking in the Grand Canyon and got into a conversation with a woman. I think it was possibly at a virtual geocache.. She mentioned wanting to go to Colorado were she had a dream of finding "Colorado's hardest cache". What was it? The Stone Pony. What are the chances? On to the description... A fall from the pony will certainly be fatal. Though not a technical climb, the exposure is considerable. Note that the photographer can stay relatively safe if they are part of a geocaching team. If they want to log it themselves separately then they will have to go out there too. I am purposely not including location and route information as this is trivial for any mountain enthusiast to find out. Though now I see that the included map of the area takes the fun out of figuring out exactly where it is that you are headed. I look forward to seeing people's pictures!
