Geocache Description:

This small cache is along Forest Road 27 in the Ochoco National Forest.  It will be snowed in by November 1 in most years.

The Mrs. and I took two of our grandsons camping in the Ochoco's and the boys and I put out this cache from our campsite. We wanted you to experience this area in the Ochoco Mountains. The best time of year to find this cache would be in the late spring, early summer months after the snow has melted. It will be green with lots of wild flowers, as the summer goes along things will dry out and turn brown in the areas exposed to the sun. We saw deer every day and if you are lucky you may see an elk or two. Be sure to visit Chief Paulina's old cache (5/19/02), "Hash Rock", while in the area. If you visit in the summer months be sure to bring plenty of water and pay attention to any fire restrictions in place. I have posted a picture showing the cache location.  An old road goes up the right hand side of the meadow, best to park and walk it.  Beware of ants on the old log the cache is next to.
