5/17/2009 Find # 2 for today as we were taking the long way to another cache. We didn't make it a P&G we came up from the trails, and no not from the trail right next to it, but from about 2 trails over. It still was not a bad hike in a very nice park.

Nice easy find but my wife and I decided to take the long way there. We followed the gps instead of the trail, which lead us up and down slippery slopes and to a creek which we crossed with the help of a fallen tree 6 feet in the air. So much fun! Thank you for the hide.

The container was spotted from about 200 feet away. The sun was shining off of it just right from the direction I was approaching. It's in the same spot, but it's covered a little better (from both sides). Thank you very much for the cache.

Just a note about a TB I dropped in this cache. It came from the Benchmarks Cache that is about to be discontinued. The number on the TB is not the one that is used to log it with. If the next person who finds this TB will E-mail me with the correct tracking number on it, I will log its movement accordingly. The number I saw on it is TRAVEL13954 and it is a little race car in a zip lock bag.

We were back out in the vicinity this morning and thought we would try and log the cache. It is a beautiful park with lots of activity going on most all the time. It was, however, quiet on the trail toward this cache though (7:30 a.m.). We were able to log it unnoticed except for a swarm of mosquitos that seem to have taken over residence in the hidding spot. Caching with Sarah! In addition to not having the cache information, we had no idea about the trails, so we did a bushwacking bee line to the cache. We had to jump across a wide stream and scurry up a steep hill. The terrain rating just got higher.We took the Mr X-Cy-Ting TB and left some other, regular cache stuff. We even saw the line poles. I went across a tree bridge on the way back. MacGyver it.

This was a easy one to find. The first one we did with a compass instead of the GPS receiver. A beautiful place with lots of amenities. Took a purple grooming kit and left a sewing kit.

jokid and I, seeking "Rainbow Dragon's Treasure - Prerequisite" (GCKZ6Z) turned A when we should have turned B,
and found ourselves so close to "County Line Cache" that we decided to find it first. This was jokid's first time using their own compass purchased only minutes before. Not only did jokid find the cache by bearing, but they found the car again afterwards.
Took a purple grooming mirror and comb. Left a sewing kit.
Removed a lighter for safe disposal.

Great hiding place. We had four people looking and one of them stepped practically on top of it! Had alot of fun finding it too! 8:20AMI am spending several days in the area caching with pal Ybindoors. We decided to come up and camp so we would have more time to hunt caches in the surrounding area. A nice quick find. There wasn't a camera in the cache and the lid was off and both bags are rip. But the cache is still dry. Thanks for the hunt.

Nice walk over from Hummingbird, Triad Park now has a paved path where once was gooey mud! Still had to root around a bit, and be warned the building near this one does not have bathrooms! Plastic bag seriously eated up by something, will try to remember to get a new one over there before too long. My son found this one, he is good at this! Of course, I had my eyes on the GPS, and he was looking for hidey holes.

Wow, what a great park this is. My company had a pcinic for lunch today at one of the shelters and since I knew this cache was in the park, I looked to see if it was close. It was a ways away, but my boss and a co-worker and I went looking for it.We didn't park in the easiest location because the gate was closed, but we made a quick track through the woods to it from another parking lot. I saw it immediately, but let the rookies keep looking and the boss found it. I had told him about geocaching and he dug actually getting out and doing it. My son and I had a great time looking for this cache. We went the wrong way on a trail, but decided to walk it anyway because of the beauty of the area. Cache was in great shape. Signed the log. My son took some marbles and a pen with baseballs on it. We also took TB Barry Kool to see if we could get him a bit closer to some fish. Found this cache without too much trouble. Spotted some other Geocacher's standing around and we knew they were near the cache based on our bearings. Pretty obvious even from a considerable distance what they were doing. (Since we knew there was a cache in the area). Said "Hi" and let them go on their way.

Our son's first cache! (our 4th) We found this one without the hint! We were spotted by what turned out to be other GEOcachers and weren't quite sure what the etiquette should be under the circumstances, so we quickly re-stashed the cache and left the scene. Met the other GEOcachers on the trail and we didn't quite know what to say so that we wouldn't ruin their experience. Hope we didn't seem rude. Buford, the Travel Bug, is not in the cache! Working just down the road Saturday and did some quick Cachin' while my disk drives were formating and initializing. I had about 1 hour to play and almost didn't try this one once I got on-site!!!  I noticed my GPSr was directing me into a construction zone and the Trailheads were closed!!! What the heck I said, I've been run off before, the new road wasn't closed and the Rent-A-Security guard wasn't that official looking and the red mud wasn't that muddy. I found this one quick, in good shape and well hidden. I sure hope the new buildings are part of this park and this cache stays health. Took Green Army Man, Left Bass in the Cache TB / SL.

Found this one on our way to Glendale Springs. Very nice park . If they do everything according to the master plan, this will be a super park. We were able to avoid the construction and find the cache easily. The operator of the large earth moving machine had an eye on us, so we were extra careful. Took Runaway TB and a popper thingy, Left Juke Box lapel pin, bouncy ball and two members of the Green Team. Thanks for the Hunt!

Since this is the first of a marathon Triad cache day for us, I will make this log longer and more detailed and just refer folks to it on my other logs of our 14(13 for FFools since I 'found' his Guilford Mill Virtual) cache trek.
Yes, this was the 1/14 of a very long and fun day for us. We left Raleigh at 7:45am, drove almost 300 miles, spent 15 hours together, and consumed almost 2 dozen beverages. I left the navigating to FFools and did all of the driving. We saw beavers, woodchucks hawks, snakes during the day. Without planning to, we found hides by most of the regular triad cachers. Thanks for all of the different types of hides out there.

This was my easiest find yet. Cloud cover and satellite coverage were both in my favor. Me and my Sidekick (dog) made every possible wrong turn in the trail, which made for a most enjoyable hunt! This is a beautiful trail, and I highly recommend it to everyone. I'm afraid that the cache may have to be moved because of the new work being done on the park. In town on business.Wasn't sure I could make this grab and get out of there before running out of daylight, so this ranks as one of my most *clutch* caches (if I do say so myself). Entered the trail at 0.12 miles to the target, but naturally chose the wrong way around. Bushwhacked through in the right direction, but attracted the attention of some bugs who decided I was the scent of Bug Mating Call. While running through and flailing to try to do SOMETHING to shake this, I ended up at another trail point and less than 150 feet to the cache. Crossed over some more water to yet another trail point and less than 50 feet to the target. At this point tree canopy kicked in and sent me around in circles, but to get this close I would not be denied. Kept circling to clearings looking for some decent GPS signal, and eventually zeroed in and made the find, just in time! TNLNSL. Really nice park and good cache...thanks!

Wow, this one was a little tricky because of the clearing they're doing, but we found it! It probably would have been better to approach the cache from a different parking area though. Took the wooden acorn and a frog clip, left Moravian star bookmark and bracelets.

Found cache in good condition. We left a wood acorn, and GO ARMY racing pin (I know you like NASCAR, YF Tony!) We took a matchbox car to pass on to another cache, and a Where's George Dollar. They are doing a lot of clearing in the area, so we made sure that it was rehidden as natural as possible.

Found cache in good shape, and OUTSIDE the posted we ain't diggin' up past this post signage, so no need to relocate, but it'll be a touch closer to this new construction than should be - depending on what goes there. Enjoyed the maze of trails, creek hopping, trail-whacking (you know, bushwhack a few feet between adjacent trails to save the long loop), and the muddy trek back out (took the quicker way out). Took little red spinning top, left huggy_d1 keychain, and geocaching window static.Thanks for the fun!

Went out today with a friend, to introduce her to geocaching. We found the cache well-hidden with relative ease - once I corrected the coordinates I had entered in my GPSr - I had the wrong coordinates in there to start with and we were wandering all around the *wrong* places:-) We enjoyed a really nice walk, though, with our dogs. My friend snapped a pic of me and my dog, Caesar with the cache camera (pic #20, i think). Took the little knife keychain and left a strip of sponge stamps. Thanks for the great cache!

Cache maintenance complete, and many thanks to those that helped out in the interim.I've re-bagged the contents, and dumped the trash and damp items. The container is not quite full, so I kept it, and replaced the outer bag. The nearby clearing is expanding, so relocation may be in the near future.

It was a dark and stormy night...well, at least it was a cloudy morning in late February with intermittant drizzle! Had some trouble with my GPS in the trees, but as there is a worksite nearby was able to get a reading there and walk in a straight line toward the coordinates and THAR SHE BLOWS, MATIE! The cache is showing some moisture damage: rust on the tin, and much dampness inside. I signed the log, took a photo (that's me in the hat with my GPS obscuring my face), took the sunglasses and left a Geocaching Window Sticker. The worksite is beginning to encroach on the cache area, so it might have to be relocated in the future. I enjoyed the LACK of briars!

Had fun searching for this cache with my son. Good selection of the cache hiding place. Cache was in need of a bit of attention (primary ziplock was weather worn and full of holes -- some contents wet from recent rains)... didn't have a ziplock or bag to fix this... 50th FIND for THE MACDADDYMD!! Nice little jaunt, pretty quick find. However, we had minor problems... Froebeli’s right rear brake locked up and we spent a few anxious moments with smoke coming off the brake. No fire, though. We were so committed, we rented a car so we could keep caching while repairs were effected. Sick? Sure! We had plans for a ten-cache day, but this killed it. Oh, well, nice spot for a cache... but cold. Snow on the horizon! Left a matchbox car.

Nice hiding place. Walked around quite a bit before finding cache. 9:30 in morning and cold, temp. 28 degrees. I was the only person in the entire park. Took photo, there was nothing to write with in the can to make an entry in log book. So I left a ball point pen...took plastic motorcyle.

Last cache before nightfall. Wonderful park but we'll have to return to explore further. As we got closer to the cache site, we thought we heard, Hola Amigoes! Que Pasa? and we got introduced to Rocky, a TB who speaks Spanish. After exchanging pleasantries and taking a group photo, we left a motorcycle and a Hot Wheels race car and took a rose pin & spider pencil. This was the first time we were at Triad Park. The day was dreary and damp but we managed to find the cache and have a good time doing it. If anyone else is going to this cache please bring a very large Zip lock bag to replace the one that is protecting it. The old bag has a hole in it. Found the cache!
This really is a nice area, not only for a cache, but for a nice morning walk. The coordinates were right on the money. Cache is in good shape. We took the bug, a spongey ball, and a pencil. The goodies are really starting to build up in this one..... We left a party popper, a small adress book, and a chinese yo-yo.

What a great park with great trails and a great cache. The cache is in excellent shape. Found and took the Magic 8 Ball Travel Bug which had just been left earlier in the day. Also took the glow sticks. Unfortunately, we forgot our goodies on the kitchen table so we didn't have anything to leave, but as the cache is local we'll return within the week to stash something and keep this cache going. Found our first cache! I was excited to get my GPS and track the first cache. My wife and 8-year-old son went along and loved it. My son was reluctant at first, then wanted to go find another one as we were leaving and the sun had already gone down.My wife took the whale and left a gas grill lighter and my son took a ball and left some cash. It was too dark to take a picture since there was no flash on the camera, but it may be a blessing not to see my portrait.

We stopped by and found this cache before the picnic today. We walked straight to the area, and found the cache with no problem (good hiding spot, that's where we would have put it, too). This was the first cache that SickBoi, MareeJane, and I found...We had to wait out the storm in our car, then headed for the spot. It was a nice walk, but so many trees had been downed by the storm that we were afraid we wouldn't be able to find it. A guy on a golf cart came by and warned us off, telling us that we were going to get snake bitten by messing around. He told us if any more boomers came, that we would need to leave immediately. We didn't bother explaining what we were doing. We let him think we were snake catchers. SickBoi finally found it at 7:00 pm and we took the baseball and small yellow ball, and left two glowsticks and Maree's favorite picture of her hero, Snoop. What a nice place! I'd love to go back! Wow, I never even knew this park existed! Saw on their website that they are even planning to put in a disc golf course, cool!Found this cache in the pouring rain at 8:30 pm after a thunderstorm, was almost dark when I found it. Great hide! Left a complete sewing/repair kit and a pocket magnifying glass in a case, took a lightstick. Great cache spot Honeychile! And Bartucus! I took 6 kiddos and a friend on her first hunt with me today! The park was totally dead, so we had no trouble! Took a few Father's Day cards, a rose pin and a little thing of bubbles. My 2 year old is now addicted to your bubbles! We blew nearly the whole bottle on our 45 minute ride home! Left lots of cool things - 2 USA flag keychains, yellow molecule bouncy ball, sports ball keychain, fishing bobber, new baseball, mini-utility knife and a smiley face whoopie cushion! Great hiding spot!

Wow... An FTF in Hawk-eye's backyard . You have to be quick to beat Hawk-eye. I was surfing the geocache page and up pops a new cache. I knew I had to act immediately if I was going to get ahead of Hawk-eye. I found this cache at 11:10 PM after entering the park from the side and bushwacking in the dark to the trail.I claimed the first finder's prize... a nice mini-pocket knife. I used it to sharpen one of the pencils in the cache to enter log in the log book. I tried to take a picture but the camera has no flash and it is awfully dark at 11:10 PM. I tried to shine my light on me... I doubt if that was enough though. I also took a bottle of bubble bath for the kids. I left an American Flag lapel pin, Lotus notes computer software and Team Geddings Pooh Travel Bug. Thanks for a good hunt... of course anytime you beat Hawk-eye, it is a good hunt.
