** Update 11/4/11 - Hurricane Irene ravaged this area and completely changed this area as well as caused the Hudson to swallow our cache. It is now replaced but in a new spot, with new cache (regular, but not traditional) and less family friendly regarding contents. **
Welcome to Coeyman's Landing! This beautiful Hudson River park has been devoid of caches and we wanted to remedy this omission. Coeyman's Landing park was rededicated in 2000 and has a nice nature trail that was opened in 1998. Sadly, the trail has fallen into a little disrepair, but it is still very navigable.
The park has swings and a playground area and has a nice concrete pier that is used for fishing in the river and for sightseeing. Many people, especially seniors, like to sit and watch the boats and barges come up and down the river at this locale.
The associated marina is home to docks and many beautiful large boats as well smaller boats. There is a boat launch here also and a large gazebo where many summertime concerts are held. There are a few picnic tables with BBQ grills. For sports fans, just across a small parking lot, there are soccer fields that double as grounds for many other sports as well.
The only two warnings here are skeeters and mud. Lying low and close to the Hudson River, this area frequently gets wet as well as holding onto rain water. Thus, prime location for skeeters and it is often muddy. This one is easy to access off the trail, but we ask that you re-hide well due to high muggle activity thru this area. FTF gets a dollar bill as my kids love finding money for ice cream!!
