The remnants of Henry Gulick's homestead and the Indian Shaker Church. An easy walk along the banks of the Columbia River at the end of The Dalles bridge.
A small cache hidden in the remnents of some local history. Henry Gulick immigrated from Scotland in the 1890s and married Harriet, a local Wasco woman, who was a member of the Indian Shaker movement. Although he wasn't religous he built a small wooden church for his wife and the other members as well as living quarters, a barn, and other buildings. Unfortunately the church collapsed under the weight of snow in 1996 but the other buildings are still standing - barely. Be careful around them! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ENTER ANY BUILDINGS TO FIND THIS CACHE. Remember, these old buildings have been here over 100 years so treat them kindly.
The cache is in a medium sized lock and lock. It contains some nice goodies and a log book. If it is warm weather be careful of slithery creatures around the buildings.
