Continuing past the cache the bay down at Halara is the deepest bluest water you have ever seen. There are caves, the swimming and snorkelling is fantastic. It is one of the very few places where the sea is accessible from the land on this spectacular southern coast.
Up until recent times Halara was a large agricultural area as can be seen by the number of farmhouses and terracing, some of which is still used for grazing. Small fishing boats were kept in the small sheltered natural harbour where the quay can still be seen. The sea is very deep and blue . Near the quay is a pool with an archway underwater into the sea. Just around the corner from this arch is an underwater cave with a blow hole above. When there is a swell the water jets out of this hole and a rainbow is formed. Halara is supposed to be a place of high energy as two Ley lines cross at this point; unfortunately you need the energy at Exo Meria once you have climbed back up!
The cache is in a plastic drink container with a red top. It just contains a log and a geocaching declaration in Greek and in English. Please take a pen with you.
