Geocache Description:

How many times have you traveled to another city, perhaps with limited time, but with a desire to hunt down a few fun caches? Or perhaps you are planning a trip here and want to find some of the really cool caches that this area has to offer. Here is our chance, Spokane, to showcase some of the caches we are most proud of.

To log this cache, you must not only find the cache, but you must also list one, two – up to five caches that you think out-of-towners would really enjoy. Keep in mind that long hikes and puzzle caches may not be what folks are looking for as they aren’t as familiar with the “backroads” and may not have the time to decipher a complicated puzzle and/or climb a mountain.

When you log your cache online, pick a few of your favorites in the Spokane area (within 10 miles or so) and include the cache name and GC Code. If you would like, say a few words as to why you think this is a must-do. Here’s an example:

The Davenport GC8ACC - A premier restored historic hotel – gotta go see this place!
Reach for the Brass Ring! GC8E6B - A trip to Spokane isn’t complete without this one
Spirit of Nature (Manito Park) GCC723 – Manito Park is simply beautiful

After a while, I will compile a list of those caches you think our visitors would most enjoy and add this to the cache page. This cache is not intended to favor certain caches over others, but merely to offer our visitors a chance to see some of the highlights of the great Inland Empire.

OK, now about this particular cache hunt… Best access to this is from the 8th Street entry to the Dishman Hills Natural Area. Take the skinny uphill trail to your right soon after crossing the gate. It’s a short little hike, but a nice intro into the Dishman Hills if you haven’t logged a cache here before. There is no room for trade items, just sign the log and enjoy your walk.
