MINERALOGY 301

Anybody who majored in Geology or Earth Science probably remembers taking a basic course in Mineral Science (Mineralogy) during their junior or senior years. Some people feared this course but some of us really enjoyed our time - especially the lab portion of it. There was so much memorization involved and so many mineral characteristics to remember that it can be overwhelming.

In order to solve for the coordinates of the hidden cache you will need to fill in the numbers in the set of coordinates listed below:

NORTH AI CA.CEG
WEST HD DB.AAF

The questions below will help you fill in those unknowns.

A. What is the molecular weight of AZURITE (in grams, last digit before the period)?
B. What is the chemical formula for HEMATITE (first number in the formula)?
C. What is the hardness of APATITE?
D. What is the hardness of CALCITE?
E. What is the radioactivity of MALACHITE (listed in GRapi units)?
F. What is the bulk density of GALENA (round down to the nearest whole number)?
G. What is the hardness of QUARTZ?
H. What is the molecular weight of BARITE (last digit)?
I. What is the final number in this puzzles name?
