Geocache Description:


Berna Eli "Barney" Oldfield (June 3, 1878 - October 4, 1946)
was born on a farm just outside of Wauseon, Ohio.
He went on to become this nation's first great automobile racer.
As most of this races were on dirt roads, this series pays homage to him by placing caches around Fulton County only on dirt and stone roads. Enjoy!



In 1990, Barney was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame. as well as the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 1990. A year before, he was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in the inaugural 1989 class.
