The Fry Creek Loop Trail in the Fry Creek Campground is a pleasant trail which travels through mixed pine and black oak stands. It also traverses a few Penny Pine plantations (replanted burn sites) and offers users occasional benches for resting. There is a day use fee of $5 or you can camp. You can also hike to the Palomar Observatory from a trail just across the road.
