Geocache Description:

This is the first in a series of Shropshire Souvenir caches designed to take people to some of the most lovely places in the County. It is very close to the stiperstones in South Shropshire. It is a take-only cache and is full of souvenirs from Shropshire.

The cache is located in south Shropshire and can easily be done at the same time as "whinberry Pie- GCHJP6 - on the stiperstones" If you are doing both then follow the instructions in Whinberry pie for parking. If you want to park closer then use the car park at grid SO 356 971. From the car park it is an easy walk to Nipstone rocks.

The cache is situated below the highest rock and BE CAREFUL, the last few feet are steep and if you followed your GPS you may walk over a rock face - we could not get an accurate fix on the cache and took a GPS reading from directly above it!!!!. Please walk around the bottom of the rock to get to the cache and be careful with small children. Having said this it's not difficult to find, rather like a present hidden behind the Christmas tree.
The views are spectacular and on a clear day you can see over Wales to both Cader Idris and Snowdon. The whole area was forestry land but is being turned back into moorland as part of a project entitled "back to purple" if you are there when the heather is blooming you will see why.

Please take a souvenir from the cache and send me an email if it is getting empty - I will come down and refill it.
You do not need to leave anything in the cache although Travel Bugs are most welcome. The items found in it were kindly donated by various elements of the Shropshire tourism and the county council.

All that I ask is when you fill in the webpage can you tell me where you came from - postcode or town name and country if outside the UK. My aim is to have a map available on net showing where all the visitors came from.

I have only just discovered this site but I think it is one of the best viewpoints in Shropshire and I could spend hours looking over the hills and watching the Buzzards and ravens.

Make sure that on the way back you go to the visitors center in BOG - yes thats the name - the place is at the site of an old lead mining complex and its fascinating. They do a wonderful cup of tea and a delicious cake called "bog bake" which you must try.

I hope you enjoy this cache as much as I did.
