The Senior Sleuths: It is time to archive this cache, at least for now. The surroundings are not restful as they were before the fire, and the area is full of tall weeds. I can not image the ammo can totally burned in the fire but we never found it.

Geocache Description:

Here’s a cache for those who don’t want to get much exercise. The easy walk is short, (.1 mi). We have lived nearby for many years but were surprised when we came across this secluded area. You might want to sit awhile and enjoy the sounds. Although the hike is easy (if you find it hard, you are not on the right path). Please be cautious on the rocks at the site. After winter rains, the plant growth makes the trail harder to find. When there is a choice, bear to the right.

There is dirt parking by the side of West Bernardo Dr. at the start of the trail... look for the metal gate . (N33 02.582 W117 04.590) NOT THE WATER TREATMENT GATE. You can also park north at the community park, but you need to walk south along the road to the metal gate. Check your GPS as you enter the rocky area as the trees may hinder your readings. The cache is a standard ammo can. Watch the speed limits in the area as they are monitored often.
