In Yangmingshan National Park near Tatun Mountain
This is a small cache located next to a path. To reach this area, take the main highway (no. 2) north through Yangmingshan National Park and turn left onto County Road 101A when you see the sign pointing toward Tatun Nature Park. Follow this road until you reach the "Erzihping" parking area (if you reach Tatun Nature Park, you've gone a little too far). If the parking lot is full, you can park along the road leading up the mountain.
If you want to use public transportation, take the Taipei to Chinshan Taiwan Bus Company bus from the Kungpao Building (Government Insurance Building) stop on Chingtao E. Rd., and get off at the Mt. Chihsing stop. Find the sign for Country Road 101A and from there walk to the Erzihping parking area, which will take 60-80 minutes.
From the parking lot, follow the cement or gravel path to Erzihping (where you'll see ponds and a long pavilion). The path will intersect at Erzihping with two other paths. Follow the "Tatunping" path up the hill to the cache area.
Bring a pen or pencil along if you'd like to write a note in the log book, and please exchange your own very small treasures for those you find in the cache. Since the cache is right beside the path, please be careful that no one sees you take out or replace the cache.
This beautiful area is famous for the myriad butterflies that appear each year in May. From the cache site, you can either retrace your steps to the parking lot, or you can follow the Tatunping path all the way up (it's quite steep) to the top of Mt. Tatun. From there, a paved road will lead you down the mountain to the Erzihping parking lot.
