Notice: 03/07/09
Due to the concerns that have been posted about the poison oak,
please approach the cache from the east. If you overshoot it and
decide to approach from the north, please keep a look out for the
PO. This is also true if you head back to the trail from GZ, on a
due north heading. I again checked the cache this morning and my
reader led me straight to it, from the east. I'm putting this out
there because while in march, the PO is easy to spot, come autumn,
the leaves will fall off and all you will have is the stems, which
will put the irritant on you quicker than the leaves.
I was driving around the other day and noticed this official
trail head entrance to the Santa Susana State Historical Park. I
only went in as far as the cache site, but this area is a stark
contrast to the rest of the park. This path is lush and lined by
tall trees, while the rest of the park is arid and rocky.

PO. (it will be on your right). This is also true if you head back
to the trail from GZ, on a due north heading. I again checked the
cache this morning and my reader led me straight to it, from the
east, and brought me no where near the PO. I'm putting this out
there because while in March, the PO is easy to spot, come autumn,
the leaves will fall off and all you will have is the stems, which
will put the irritant on you quicker than the leaves.
