You are looking for a .30 cal. Ammo box. This is on a US Forest Service road on NC Game lands on the Northwestern portion of the Coleman Boundry just inside Buncombe County. There is minor elevation and the altitude is around 4383ft. The road is at Cane River Gap on Hwy 197.Parking cordinates. N 35 48.602 W 82 20.880
The hike is .72 miles on an easy old forest service logging road. Just about a 15 to 20 minute walk, depends on how fast you want to walk. You can take 197N at the Jupter/Barnardsville exit on I-26 or 197S from Burnsville.When parking, do not block the gate. Forest service people don't take kindly to their gates being blocked.
