A pleasant 2 mile hike along a fairly wide forest trail (road?) along side a section of Noland creek.
The trail head is located at N 35 27.440 W 83 31.56 on the road know locally as the road to nowhere. The cache is a green ammo box. A little further up the trail from the cache are the remains of an old homestead. Satellite coverage is not good at times. The epe after more than 70 readings was only 20.4 feet. The leaf canopy is fairly thick so be prepared to look around a little. Hiking back out there were only 2 satellites visible for tracking. You might want to take the trail south from the trail head to Fontana Lake as a side trip. Watch for horses and riders as well as wild boar traps. Cache contains a camera. Please record you visit on film and in the log book as well as on this web site.
