Park at Val Verde Park. You will pass our Hangin' Out" cache
(GCR6PB) on the way to this one - so might as well grab that one
too! Once you pass that cache you'll be on the road to this one.
Ok, so it's not Mt. Everest but it's one of the tallest places in
this town! The Elevation at the location is 1664 ft. and it's
pretty easy going. Little Bear walked all the way up and down by
himself. (He's two, and a real good hiker for his age!)It's hard
packed dirt road all the way there, although after a lot of rain
taking a stroller up may be a bit challenging.
Cache contains some fun Geoswag with some kids items too. Bring a
camera, some water, and some snacks, there are great views from
here!

The post was not secured and leaning on a bush. The location was N34 26.617 W118 40.021

March 26, 2008 by aeckventurous (168 found) Finally took the time to go find this one. What a beautiful day and gorgeous views. Good workout pushing a jogging stroller up. Had a snack overlooking Val Verde with my 20 month old. He had fun looking through all the treasure. Took the woven wallet and left a Big Bad Trucker Geonickel #202. SLTFTC

March 9, 2008 by EMC of Northridge, CA (21151 found) This is a wonderful hike with 360ยบ views as you wind up and down around the hill. I clocked a 2.3 mile RT hike, saw lots of wildflowers, and hid the cache better as it was quite exposed.

December 1, 2007 by MagicStan (704 found) After reading the last log, I probably should not have left what I did, but I left my swag in the car with my jacket as the weather had turned warmer as we started up the grade past Hangin' Out. I took the pumice rock for my grandson and left a Kennedy half-dollar. The logbook had graffiti on one log page. I almost tore it out, but then I did not want to upset someone who might be back to destroy it further. The new hide that the last Geocacher made was about as good as one could get with the lack of brush cover in the area. My hat is off to Little Bear, if he actually made this whole round trip from Hangin' Out to the top and back without being carried. We left one of our troups about halfway up. Great workout. Thanks for the hike and the cache.
