Located on East Post Rd. in SE Cedar Rapids, you'll find the Sun Valley Trailhead of Sac & Fox Trail. 7.2 miles in length, this well maintained trail runs along Indian Creek and is not only a scenic place for an afternoon hike, jog, or bike ride, it is teeming with wildlife. Chances are if you use a little bit of stealth you will come across deer, rabbits, and squirrels at some point in your journey along the trail, not to mention being serenaded by a variety of birds and the sounds of the creek.
A great place to spend the afternoon hiking with the family or for some peaceful solitude, you'll find this trail is fairly flat. The trail does vary in spots from crushed rock to sandy dirt to uneven small rocks, so biking may be a bit of a challenge from time to time. The trail might be muddy in spots after a heavy rain and Indian Creek is known for flooding as well, so keep this in mind if we are under a flood warning.
