Decomposing Granite hills above Carson City. 5992ft Went up last
week. The Newer Coordinates are right on... dunno what happened
that first time. please use N 39 07.405 W 119 48.550
This Cache is located in the decomposing granite (DG) rock spires
that are above South Carson. A fire hit this area last year but
already new growth is showing up.
Please tread lightly to minimize damage to the new flora.A
two-wheel drive with ground clearance can get all the way up to the
end of the road, but a 4x4 is recommended. Please be very careful
on the DG!!! They are slippery, abrasive rocks. This Cache is no
place for sandles! :D
The Cache is a white ammo box with a metallic green lid and the
geocaching web URL on the sides.
Contents at time of placing:Log book & cache note, two
pencils and a pen (please do not remove these)
3 Magic the Gathering cards
2 Whistles
1 Squishy yellow lizard pen
1 pocket magnifying glass
2 LED key chain lights (one red, one white)
2 Magnetic Hide-a-Key containers
1 Rigid door stop
3 Doggy tennis balls.

A view south to Minden/Gardnerville
Here is a nice picture of the decomposing granite rock spires that are all over the hill.
Granite spires eclipse the sun... see the truck?
On the way back from the cache, the sun was in our eyes, but this little window created by two grantie rocks could not be passed up... photo op!
HWY 50 up to Tahoe
From where we parked the Truck, this is the view of HWY 50 as it heads up to the lake.
Intellivision & Ronk10
This is Intellivision (Brian) & Ronk10 (Ron) after placing the cache. It's in those hill sbehind us!
Pics of the ammo box! (no hints)
I decided to go with white ammo boxes and metallic green lids. (hey... I ran out of blue paint okay!? :P besides they catch the eye nicely)

February 1, 2009 by NevadaWolf (2937 found) Took a TB I've had too long with me on our hike. Showing her around the neatest canyon in Carson.

February 1, 2009 by Puzzleman (1630 found) Went out with NevadaWolf and BigTruckCrew for a day of hiking. Great day outing. I was the only one needing this one so I grabbed these while we were in the area. I wish the listed coordinates had been updated/changed, as if it had not been for nevadawolf's mobile device I would never have know what the correct location was. But still nice hide, location, and view. Thanks

December 13, 2008 by nvsrvyr (4192 found) Score!! Found this one just before dark on this cold and snowy day. Thanks for the Hunt and the Cache!! TN, left a Manhard Consulting Keychain.Walked past a Earth Scope GPS Reference Monitoring Station on the way to log this cool cache. It is to bad that people have to go and destroy things that are not theirs or that they do not understand what they are. This Reference Station is one of many in a network set up to monitor the earths crustal movements. The damage done to this Reference Station will cost thousands of dollars to repair. It is unfortunate that someone found a few minutes of joy in causing so much damage, and for what?? To learn more about Earth Scope just do a google search.

October 31, 2008 by sierradogs (1040 found) Made a run up Voltaire Canyon and found this third out of 4 on the day. Great views all around. The intel on this one is absolutely correct, very good clues by the way. Enjoyed the drive up here just had to go slow. This also allowed us to scout out the next one named stonehenge over carson.
