As you enter Smoketown Cemetery, be sure to take a look at the empty space located on your left. Until 2012, it was the location of Smoketown School, a one-room schoolhouse that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. It was used as a school between its construction in 1869 and its closure in 1940.
After it was closed as a school, the building became a three-room home for the cemetery's caretakers. It later was remodeled to its former schoolhouse appearance and was open for tours until 2009. Despite its historic value, it fell into disrepair. It was condemned and eventually demolished.

The cache is a large-sized lock-and-lock. Be careful of barbed wire near the hiding spot. Keep in mind that as this is a cemetery cache, hunts should be limited to daylight hours.
Good luck and happy caching!
