Beginners Kayak Series #4

Here are a series of kayak caches for us beginning kayakers. The caches are located in the small connected lakes in Buffalo Run Park in Missouri City (south of Fondren from the South Sam Houston Tollway, right on Buffalo Run to park entrance, about a quarter of a mile from Fondren). There are four traditional caches that you need a boat to reach. There is no current here but wind might be a problem. There are stumps in the lakes so watch the water. The paddeling is easy and all four caches should only take an hour or two. There is a boat ramp at the parking lot or you can launch off the bank to the east of the boat ramp. The bottom drops off fairly quickly so watch your step (cell phones do not like to go swimming). I have been using the lakes to familiarize myself with my new kayak. I have yet to see an alligator only a turtle or two and some fish jumping. Have fun!!
