Geocache Description:

In 1954 the Fort Whoop-up Guest Ranch was going to be one big tourist attraction.

J.N. "Bus" Murdoch who lived in the historic Whitney Ranch house nearby (take time and read the plaque) was a local entrepreneur who dreamed of converting the 85 acre ranch into a guest ranch. The quarter mile track did feature stock car races for a time but the dining room, tourist cabins, golf driving range and elaborate landscape plans just never happened. He later moved to California.

Today, the only part of the Fort Whoop-up Guest Ranch construction remaining is the Round-up Room. It is now Lethbridge College's DA Electric Barn.

Check out my related web page (above) for Lethbridge's First Rock Concert. It was held there.
