Geocache Description:


Parking is free, open 6am – 9pm year round.
There are rules are posted at the entrance. Stay on trails in nesting seasons. Special rules apply during nesting seasons, roughly May 1 – September 30. No collecting of wildflowers, plants or animals. Dogs are allowed on a leash and on trails only. There is a road that is open year round (the notice and the map are on a wooden post at the entrance) on which you could actually drive to within a few feet of the cache, as long as you have four wheel drive and aren’t too worried about the possibility of branches scraping the paint off your car, otherwise you should park at the entrance (if you feel like walking) or at the waypoint (for a much shorter walk).

The entrance is at N43° 24.143 W070° 37.505. You’re going to want to stop and read the rules posted there and gather some information on the local flora and fauna (Hint, hint) and then proceed to the waypoint.

At the waypoint you will find a 10 digit number and, just below it, an 11 digit number. Assign the following letters to the two numbers.

The final cache is at N43° 24.EIQ W070° 37.TG?

The last digit is the “Mystery Number” (Oooooo). The mystery number is the maximum length to which Maine’s largest and rarest snake grows.
