Geocache Description:

Este caché forma parte de una serie de cachés alrededor de Villamanrique, un pueblo al sur de Ciudad Real. El objetivo de estos cachés es dar a conocer este bonito pueblo injustamente olvidado.

This cache forms part of a series of caches around Villamanrique, a village to the south of Ciudad Real. The aim of these caches is to show you this beautiful village which has been unfairly forgotten.

El Pozo Sin Suelo es una caída natural de agua, que forma un “pozo” al llegar abajo. Se le llama “sin suelo” porque nunca se ha visto sin agua, no se conoce el fondo. Éste es el nacimiento del río Guadalén, subafluente del Guadalquivir.

Actualmente, y debido a la sequía que vivimos, no es posible ver la caída del agua más que en temporada de lluvias (si las hay, claro). Sin embargo, merece la pena visitarlo, porque es un bonito enclave aún no sobreexplotado por el hombre. Poca gente del pueblo sabe de la existencia de este lugar.

Para llegar al caché: Deberéis entrar al pueblo, hasta las coordenadas N38º 32.767 W002º 59.619, que es el inicio del camino que deberemos seguir. El camino no está perfectamente asfaltado, pero lo suficientemente bien como para poder circular con coche. Seguiremos este camino todo recto, hasta llegar a las coordenadas N38º 33.005 W002º 57.848. Aquí el camino empeora considerablemente, por lo que os aconsejamos dejar el coche y seguir a pie. El caché está a unos 700 m. aproximadamente, deberéis seguir en la misma dirección que hasta ahora, y atravesar los campos de olivos (tan típicos por esta zona) que encontraréis.

En el último tramo tenéis que poner especial cuidado en no resbalar en la pendiente. El caché es un bote de carrete de fotos. Contiene un libro de visitas y un lápiz.

The "bottomless well" is a natural 'waterfall' which forms a 'well' as it reaches the ground. It is called "bottomless" because nobody has ever seen it without water, and therefore we don't know how deep it is. This is also the source of the river Guadalén, which is a tributary of the river Guadalquivir.

Currently, due to the drought suffered here, it's only possible to see the 'waterfall' during times of rain (which isn't very often!). Nevertheless, it is well worth visiting, because it's a beautiful enclave which hasn't been exploited. Very few people actually know about this place.

How to get to the cache:

You should first enter Villamanrique, and go to the coordinates N38º 32.767 W002º 59.619, which is where the trail begins that you need to follow. Unfortunately it isn't signposted or anything, but hopefully you'll be able to find it. The road isn't great, but you can drive a car down there without any problems, just be careful. If you continue down this road straight ahead, you should arrive at the coordinates: N38º 33.005 W002º 57.848. Here you will find that the trail worsens considerably, and so you should leave the car here and continue on foot. The cache is about 700m from this point. Just continue walking in the same direction, using your GPS as a guide, and cross the various olive groves (which are typical in this area).

In the last part there is a very sharp drop and you should be extremely careful not to slip and fall.

The cache is a typical micro, a 35mm film canister. Inside there is a log book to sign your name and a pencil. Good luck!
