Signature features of Portage Valley's Trail of Blue Ice (including the Portage Ponds loop) are boardwalk structures which keep hikers out of low boggy ground and bridges which make the stream crossings a snap. Our grandsons Noah & Corbin love to 'accelerate' their pace on the trail system's wooden structures because they can hear themselves running. Following a maintenance stop at a cache hidden in a footbridge support structure, Corbin asked if we could find a similar place later in the day to hide a cache on another 'boardwalk' - so here's Corbin's hide out in the middle of flower-strewn Portage Valley!

Exercise "Leave No Trace" practices when accessing this hide so as to minimize any soil displacement. This cache is intended to be easy to find, yet hidden from the casual passerby - but muggles travel quickly along this trail! Refer to a great photo in the gallery for a helpful (spoiler) photo of Corbin actually placing the cache - he wants every cacher to find it - and enjoy your time along the Trail of Blue Ice!
