Sobre esta ermida, devido à falta de informação, nada posso
adiantar a não ser a sua localização no cimo do outeiro a sudoeste
de Vila De Frades, esta ermida é um excelente exemplo da falta de
iniciativa na divulgação e preservação na nossa cultura.
Quem a visita experimenta fortes sensações com sentimentos opostos:
impotência e pequenez.
À nossa volta, a paisagem é de cortar a respiração. Vista soberbas
de toda a planície do baixo Alentejo num ângulo de 360º. Outros
locais existem na região com soberbas vistas, mas raros são os que
nos disponibilizam com clareza todo o Alentejo.
Opostamente, e com o mesmo sentimento, somos tão pequenos que não
temos força para contrariar o destino de tantas zonas, como esta,
existentes no nosso país condenadas ao abandono e
desolação.
O quão fracos somos, que pouco conseguiremos fazer ao observar
património como este, a ser vandalisado e até mesmo, se assim
poderemos dizer, profanado!
About this chapel, due to lack of information,
nothing can be advanced unless its location at the top of the hill
at southwest of Vila de Frades, this chapel is a perfect example
about the lack of initiative in the divulgation and preservation of
our culture.
The visitor will experience strong sensations with
conflicting feelings: impotence and smallness.
Around us, the landscape cut’s our breath.
We have a 360º superb site of the plains of the Alentejo. There are
other locations in the region with gorgeous landscapes, but only a
small few of them provide us sightseeing throughout the Alentejo
with this clarity.
On the other hand, and with the same feeling, we
realize that we are so small that we do not have strength to
counter the fate of so many areas, such as this, existing in our
country condemned to the abandonment and desolation.
How weak we are, that nothing more we can except
observe how heritage like this, are vandalized and, if we are
allowed to say it, desecrated!
