It’s been 10 years! It’s time to celebrate!

On May 1, 2000, President Bill Clinton, one of the most… interesting presidents in our history, announced Selective Availability (the scrambling of the satellite navigation system) would be ended.

On May 2, 2000, Selective Availability was archived; may it rest in peace forever.

On May 3, 2000, Dave Ulmer hid a bucket in the woods outside Portland, Oregon and announced its location on USENET, posting the coordinates (N 45°17.459 W 122°24.800) in the sci.geo.satellite-nav newsgroup. The original stash was born.

This will definitely be the one event this year where your kids won’t be crying to go home early!

Buffet, including drink at the location, is a reasonable $6.96. If you plan to be there for an extended time after the event, you may want to opt for the all-day buffet for 9.96. All other activities participated in at the location are at your discretion.

The event will start at Noon. You get to leave when you are full of food and fun... and your kids say you can.

There will be a table available for those of you who want to bring your geocoins in, however that table will not be staffed.

Please post attend intentions so we can make sure an appropriately sized room is set aside for us.
