Geocache Description:

For seventeen years I shared my life with the People of Little Italy and its surrounding area. Some of them I would see first thing in the morning and then again late in the afternoon. They would feed me and give me water when I was thirsty. I never went into Solunto's without Loone giving me a loaf of bread. The people agross the street, in the art store, made sure that I always had something to write with. And at Christmas time I usally recieved gifts from the nice people in the surrounding neighborhood. I'll never forget Mrs. Filippi. Lonne and his dad Mario and Pete the butcher acroos the street. As you can tell my life as their UPS driver was very rewarding. Seventeen years of good memories. We placed this cache by the original UPS building in San Diego. Its a big (not so big) brick building which sits at the corner of State and Laurel. It was so cramped in there that we had to use a floor jack to put the last package car away at night and then again to get the first one out in the morning. My first days there were packed with fun.(What?) My day started by delivering two package cars full of goodies and then turn around and fill one of them up with packages going out. When I returned to the building (because I was a rookie) I got to unload my car and then load the trailer that hauled the parcels to LA. All in all it was a good days work. And to think that they paid me $6.00 an hour. (1973) We hope you enjoy our bit of history and go visit Lonne in Little Italy.
