Cache container is a small ammo box (4" x 6"). All trails will eventually lead you to the right area. Cache is only about 200 feet off of the trail.
Although the trails are designated as wheelchair accessible, the cache site itself is not. We were able to walk the entire trail while pushing a stroller (you can avoid the stairs by taking a different route). Assuming you go at a normal pace, you'll be able to hike from the trailhead parking lot to the cache in about 30-45 minutes.
Small parts of the trail *may* be flooded in February or March, due to the AG&FC's efforts to attract waterfowl to this area.
There are "Cache In - Trash Out" trash bags located in the cache. Please take one and help keep the trail clean on your way out. Let us know if the trash bag supply needs to be replenished. As with all our caches, if you have problems, feel free to email us!
Three warnings: 1) Watch out for barbed wire around the cache site. 2) Snakes have been spotted on this trail. 3) Mosquitos may be a problem. Come prepared!
There have been a few cachers who have had problems finding the parking area at the trailhead. Although it is hard to see by looking at a map, just south of Mayflower on Highway 365, you will see the signs for Bell Slough Wildlife Management Area. You'll turn east and pass under the interstate on a dirt road.
